Tell me a story! Digitally! Digital storytelling is the modern expression of the ancient art of storytelling. Digital stories derive their power by weaving images, music, narrative, and voice together, thereby giving deep dimension and vivid color to characters, situations, experiences, and insights. In this Super Saturday learning experience, students will learn how movie making will effortlessly motivate them to write fluently and purposefully for a real audience.
I transitioned to education 20 years ago when I accepted a position as a preschool teacher. Shortly thereafter I moved to K-12 public schools where I truly found my passion, sharing my technical expertise with students, teachers, and administrators both from the classroom and as District Technology Coordinator. In July 2000, I joined the GRREC staff as Technology Coordinator and in 2005 my position was transformed into Director of Instructional Technology and Support Services. During my tenure at GRREC I have been selected as a National Professional Development provider for Discovery Education, The Verizon Foundation and most recently for A+ Educators. I have received the honor of being named an Apple Distinguished Educator, a Google Certified Teacher, and a Kentucky Colonel. I earned a Master of Science degree in Instructional Media Education, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
